Devil Denied

Remember we have an enemy
who has come to kill and destroy,
he is filled with hate and envy
and the tricks and lies he’ll employ.

He’ll attack us in many ways
to steal our joy and peace,
our strength and faith is beaten
as we look to God for release.

But the Lord will use our pain
to teach us more of Him,
He’ll strengthen and deliver us
from the devil and his sin.

For we have a prophetic destiny
that only the Lord can know,
no matter the trails we face
He’ll cause our faith to grow.

It’s not about what we go through
but how we choose to react,
if we meet it with joy and praise
we will overcome Satan’s attack.

There are many things in life
that we hold up in praise,
a team, a singer, a movie
will cause our hands to raise.

But when it comes to church
many times we will hold back,
we worry about what others do
before we choose to react.

There’s something we need to know
as we venture into each day,
that we’ve been built to praise
the Lord God in every way.

With words, with songs, with acts
we should praise Him all day long,
this is what we’re created for
because it blesses and keeps us strong.
