Back To the Altar

When God told man to build altars,
He said that he’d need to sacrifice,
for altars are structures for worship,
for praise that will change your life.

The altars today are being neglected,
or changed to suit every new whim,
men want to please their own ways,
not be subject and humble to Him.

We’re concerned about social correctness,
when God says how it truly should be,
our selfish pride can get in Gods way,
when we should fall on bended knee.

We need to get back to the altar,
for it’s meant to be Gods Holy place,
if we honor Gods word and follow,
He’ll meet us there face to face.

Gods Holy Word

Though many may go to church
a couple of times a week,
many times it’s just a ritual
not to truly hear God speak.

For the Lord wants us to hear
what He would want to say,
not just what the world says
is right for us this day.

Many churches have forgotten
that the Bible is Gods Word,
they teach their own versions
no matter how absurd.

Some cater to their people
and don’t correct their sin,
they fear the loss of income
more than they fear Him.

Their altars have been broken
for they turned away from His face,
they need to rebuild their altars
into Gods Holy meeting place.
